How can I apply for the MSc MEL?

The application for the master programme is done by sending in the filled in application form, a authenticated transcripts from each higher educational institution attended and two letters of recommendation. The application form and admission information can be found here.
 

What is the deadline for application?

The exact deadline for application changes yearly. The exact date can be found on our website under admission procedure (here).

How do I know if my application is received?

All students receive a confirmation when all the required documents for application are received at the Center for Maritime Economics and Logistics. Please contact us when you have send in your application longer than 2 weeks ago and have not received a confirmation.

When do I hear if I am accepted for the master?

Students get informed about their application status between 2 – 4 weeks of sending their application. 

What is the difference between the fulltime and part- time program?

In essence there is no difference between the fulltime and the part-time program. MEL is aiming to offer the same amount of knowledge and dept to both programs. The only difference between the programs is the amount of time spent at the university on a weekly basis. The part-time program takes 24 months to complete, the fulltime program 12 months. Please contact us if you want to have specific information about the part-time program.

Due to my current employment I am not able to attend every class, is this a problem?

With which bachelor can I apply to the master MEL?

There are many different bachelors that grant access to the master. Examples are given at the application part of our website. Please send us the name of your bachelor education and some additional information of how this would fit well with our programme, so we can make sure that you will be able to apply for MEL.

I don’t have the right bachelor nor compensating equivalent professional experience to enter the MEL master. Is there some bridging program I can attend?

There is no standardized bridging program to enter the master MEL. If you are interested in applying for the master MEL without a relevant bachelor please contact us.

I have not finished my bachelor (yet) at the application deadline

A bachelor degree is mandatory for application. Please contact us if you are not able to present authenticated transcripts from your bachelor degree due to late exams at the application deadline.

Is there a scholarship available for MEL?

Yes there is. The MEL Scholarship Trust Fund (STF) may offer a partial tuition fee waiver scholarship to candidates with the best essay on special selected topics per region. Candidates must be eligible to be admitted to the MEL Program so they must submit their application for the MEL program before they submit their STF Scholarship essay. The winner will be notified late in June and the decision of the Jury is final. More information about the STF or the essay topics can be found at the Fees and scholarship part of the website (here).
