RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS
MEL Contract Research
Research is one of MEL's core activities. Over the past years,
MEL faculty have been involved in a great number of national
and international research projects. The projects for
the European Commission/TREN are examples
where MEL effectively contributed to formulating shipping and port
policies across Europe. In 2003 MEL acted as adviser to the European
Commission/Competition Directorate in their re-evaluation of Regulation
4056/86 that exempts liner conferences from antitrust legislation.
Since 1999, MEL edits the quarterly journal Maritime Economics &
Logistics, published by Palgrave Macmillan. (formerly International
Journal of Maritime Economics) An indicative list of MEL projects
