Erasmus University Rotterdam: the Netherlands’ number one

Erasmus University Rotterdam is rated as 20th on the list of the Top 50 European Universities published in this month’s Times Higher Education Supplement. The EUR is cited as the Netherlands’ top university.

Other Dutch universities appearing on the list are TU Delft (24th place), TU Eindhoven (26th place), Amsterdam University (34th place), Utrecht University (41st place) and Maastricht University (44th place). The THES bases its ranking partly on the number of publications issued by each university, the number of times they are referred to in leading academic journals such as Science and Nature, the opinions of other academics and the focus on their international research. Erasmus University Rotterdam ranks 64th on the list of the world’s top 200 universities. First place goes to Harvard.
