HONORARY DOCTORATES

50th Anniversary Econometric Institute

On June 15, Prof. Sir Clive W.J. Granger Nobel laureate in Economic Science 2003 and Professor Emeritus Department of Economics, University of California San Diego and Prof. Arnold Zelner, H.G.B Professor Emeritus of Economics and Statistics, Graduate School of Business University of Chicago will receive an Honorary Doctorate in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Prof. Sir Granger receives the honorary doctorate for his fundamental contributions to the specification of dynamic econometric models. His research substantially improved the quality of economic forecasts. Honorary promotor is Prof. Philip Hans Franses.

Prof. Zellner receives the honorary doctorate for his contributions to the econometric analysis of dynamic economic models, especially his contribution to Bayesian econometric analysis. Honorary promotor is Prof. Herman van Dijk.

Key-note speaker will be dr. Alexander H.G. Rinnooy Kan, member Executive Board ING Group, former professor of Operations Research at the Econometric Institute and former Rector Magnificus at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
