The Wall Street Journal ranks RSM Erasmus University Executive Education &
Development 7th in Europe
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) released its annual MBA ranking today, placing
RSM Erasmus University’s MBA programme at number 14 on the list of the top 20
international MBA programmes. The ranking was based on the appeal of graduates
to corporate recruiters and shows that, as an international-facing school with a
unique European perspective, RSM is producing graduates sought-after by top
multi-national companies.
The ranking saw RSM’s MBA programme move up one place from last year. Like
last year, it ranked at 7th place in Europe, and is the top ranked programme in
the Netherlands.
Mike Page, Dean of Post-Experience Programmes, RSM Erasmus University,
commented on the ranking: “It is rewarding that corporate recruiters think so
highly of our graduates.”
Unlike other polls, WSJ’s international ranking is based exclusively on the
opinions and activities of corporate recruiters. The goal of the ranking is to
find out which business schools are producing the most marketable MBA graduates
– the graduates being recruited most by multi-national companies.
It is the fifth annual MBA ranking conducted by the WSJ and, like last year,
the survey was divided into three separate rankings according to different
recruitment patterns.
The international list ranks business schools that have a global reach in
their job-placement activities. In order to qualify for the international
category, which included schools from Europe, North American and Central
America, the programme had to attract recruiters from more than four different
countries. RSM’s MBA programme currently draws recruiters from at least eight
countries.
Both other rankings were US-based, for schools which drew national or local
recruiters.
To achieve the ranking, recruiters were asked to rate each school according
to 20 different attributes such as leadership ability and communication skills,
as well as reveal future plans to recruit from the school. Additional criteria
for the ranking was the number of countries from which the school attracts
recruiters.
