Objectives:
To provide students with a quick refresher course and basic introduction to the principles of micro-, macro- and international macroeconomics. To discuss certain basic economic cornerstones and serve as a foundation for further Core Courses in the MEL programme.

Course content:
Basic micro-economic tools ranging from economic principles, supply and demand to market structures and markets for factors of production. Basic macroeconomic tools ranging from national income and unemployment to money & prices, open economy macroeconomics and the links to international trade.
