SCHOLARSHIPS
Scandinavia
The MEL Scholarship Trust Fund (STF) and DVB Nedship Bank offer a full
tuition fee scholarship (€20,840.00) to a Scandinavian candidate for the best essay on “Shipping
Finance”. The winner will join MEL in the Academic Year 2008/2009, commencing
November 2008. The Scholarship cannot be transferred to a subsequent year. All other
expenses, such as housing, travel, insurance, etc., are borne by the candidate.
ELIGIBILITY
The Candidate must be a national or permanent resident of Denmark, Sweden,
Norway or Finland and eligible to be admitted to the MEL Programme. The deadline
for the Essay and complete MEL Application forms for
the academic year 2008/2009 will be
May 21st 2008. Next to the STF Scholarship Form,
the essay should also carry the indication: MEL Scholarship Competition.
Participation in the Essay Competition does not affect admission to MEL which is
assessed independently. The scholarship is awarded by a Jury consisting of MEL
Faculty and business executives.
ESSAY REQUIREMENTS
The essay should be a minimum of 3000 words, including tables, figures and bibliography.
The latter should consist only of works cited in the text. Evidence of plagiarism will
automatically disqualify the essay. Through the essay, the applicant should be able to
demonstrate his/her academic potential and good writing skills. The winner may be
contacted for an interview.
DECISION
The winner will be notified early June 2008 and the decision of the Jury is final.
