Ben Vree
CEO, North Sea Group
Ben Vree commenced work within the Rotterdam shipping environment as of 1975 and fullfilled various positions within the Furness group as well as Van Ommeren (later named Vopak). He worked for this company for more than nine years in Asia as Regional Director. In 2000 he returned to Rotterdam and started working for Smit Internationale where he was appointed CEO in 2001. After completing a strategic turnaround of the company and subsequent growth, the company was taken over by Royal Boskalis in 2010. Ben Vree was appointed as member of the Board of Boskalis but left the organisation in 2011. Following this he was appointed as CEO of North Sea Group, one of the largest independent oil distribution and trading companies in the Netherlands.
