A successful joint seminar on "Economic Growth and Sustainable Port Development" was organised by MEL and the Federal University of Sao Paolo (UNESP), Brazil, on 29 November 2010. The seminar was chaired by MEL director, Professor Hercules Haralambides, and featured a number of MEL alumni among the speakers. The seminar was organized on the occasion of the official visit of "Rotterdam" to Brazil, led by the Lord Mayor of Rotterdam Ahmed Aboutaleb.
